Navajo Native American Indian Rug Blanket Textile weave

This is an example of a NAVAJO TRANSITIONAL WEARING BLANKET FROM THE 1885-1910 RANGE! A nice looking blanket (with some wear/tear), utilizing THE CLASSIC EYE DAZZLER PATTERN! This blanket is made from expertly hand spun, hand carded and hand dyed wools which still have luster, sheen and vibrancy. The white, grey and dark brown are hand spun and hand carded natural wool colors. The red wool is hand spun, hand dyed with the old Aniline Dyes obtained from the Trading Posts. The green and yellow are most like old vegetal dyes, hand applied to hand spun wools.

This is a good example of a classic Transitional Utilitarian Navajo Blanket, ready to restore or display as is (clean, no odors and ready to go) in your home, cabin, shack...or castle!

The size of this blanket is approximately 38" X 58", with a warp of 10 and a weft of about 20, the warp and weft yarns are tightly spun and woven (both 100% wool).

SELVAGE: The Side Selvage Cords are about 60% intact (one side has most wear, with breaks and some loss to cord) a twist of two, 2-ply yellow and red wool yarns. The End Selvage Cords are about 80% intact/present (loss and breaks), a braid of three, 1-ply fine yellow wool yarns.

NO Moth nibbles/grazing/bug holes/bug damage, NO notable/significant Fading, NO notable stains/staining. There is some Fraying/Wear mostly on or near the corners, also some Very Minor Bleeding, and a few holes (one at end of rug and one along a side, see last few pics/lower left of pic. #9 shows a hole), and the corners are worn (see pic. of 4 corners). This blanket is in worn condition please see pics which show entire blanket and wear/tear.

No odors, clean and ready to display.
