Time
What is time? In the dictionary time is defined as the period between two events or during which something exists, happens, or acts, measured or measurable interval.
To students of Guthrie high school time can mean many things.
The time the new sophmores spent thinking about high school life. The time they spent worrying about what they were going to wear at that all-important first day. The time they spent adapting themselves to high school ways. The time they spent studying, just a little harder than before, for the test and the daily work.
Time has also has a great deal of meaning to the juniors. The time they spent as sophomores adjusting to the school, and now the time, sometimes exciting and happy, sometimes humdrum and dull, they spent just being juniors. The time they spent taking tests, starting to prepare for college. The time they spent tolerating the wide-eyed sophomores in the know it all seniors.
But to seniors, time, perhaps holds the greatest meeting. They remember the time they spent as sophomores and then as juniors. They remember the good times and the bad times of their last year as high school students. They remember the kiddie party, and the senior class play, and the senior night and the prom, and the pep assemblies, and the games that followed, but most of all they remember the good times they had and all of the fun things they did that some how only seniors, know how to do. They remember, too, all the times he seemed to get into trouble, the kind of trouble, somehow only seniors know how to get into. And finally they remember graduation time. A time of smiles the time of tears. A time boys and girls became young man and young women. A time when all grudges and misgivings are forgotten and forgiven. But most of all a time of happiness, sadness.
To the dedicated, faithful, and wonderful teachers a special chapter is dedicated in this book of time. The time is spent teaching, advising, and just being good friends,. From the students at GHS who wish to say thank you for your time and effort. He has certainly earned our deepest respect and appreciation.
Life at GSH is a never ending race of time and students, time and teachers, time and knowledge. The entire story would never be completely said that in print and pictures, but it will live on in the memories of the each student and in the pages of the 1963 year book
