Great vintage Royal Rochester covered casserole dish with
yellow roses and leaves and silver accents. The bottom is marked O.P. Co. Syracuse China, Royal
Rochester. I have seen this pattern on pieces dated 1901, but it may have been a popular continuing pattern. I know the O.P. Co. Syracuse China designation for the Syracuse/Onondaga Pottery Company was used between 1900 and 1966. On the under-side of the cover is the words Hand Painted Royal Rochester Studies. There is some minor paint
wear as you would expect with age. This is a heavy (over 4 lbs when packed), deep casserole/serving dish which measures approximately 7¾ inches across and approximately 5 inches tall to the handle. There are
no
nicks, chips or cracks in this piece that I can find and it would
make a lovely addition to your vintage serving pieces.
