Antique Italian Pietra Dura Rectangular Plaque

We are selling this fine antique 19^th century Italian Pietra Dura Desktop Plaque.  Circa 1880.

It is black slate with colored geometric stone inlay.

Each corner has tiny chips and there are also some other minor scattered chips along the edges. (see photos)

The plaque measures 5-1/8” long, 3-1/2” wide  5/8” deep.

This plaque bears an old partial label on the underside. Appears to have inventory number and partial description.

When wet it has a nice shiny finish. There is probably some sort of polish that can be used to help it retain the fine shiny finish.
