Welcome! I made this lovely stocking from a worn antique scrappy Dresden Plate quilt. Quite special!!! The quilt was hand appliques and hand quilted. There are some fun old fabrics in this one!! The backing is vintage white chenille. This stocking is 18" from top to toe and it is lined.
I will gladly combine shipping upon request.
Please note that all of the quilts that I use for my items are
cutter quilts that have many worn areas, loose seams and threads. I do not wash
these quilts for several reasons. First, some of the fabric may disintegrate.
Second, the dye years ago tended to run easily, and finally, the batting tends
to go caddy wonk in many quilts because of their age. If I receive a quilt that
has odor, I air it outside until the odor is gone before I use it for my
projects.
I enjoy working with old quilts and extending the life of these quilts even if
it is just a small part that has survived. I often think that the quilt maker
is looking over my shoulder smiling as she watches me make something wonderful
out of the quilt she spent many hours creating. It is definitely better than
throwing out these lovely old beat up quilts. If you have any questions,
please feel free to ask.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
