A few years ago I imported MP3 Players from china and sold them over the internet. It was a learning curve for me to figure out how to use them. Customers would ask me how to synchronize their mp3 player with iTunes. They would ask how to convert videos, how to load eBooks, e.t.c.

I had no idea how to do any of these things, but to keep my customers happy I had to figure it out. I spent countless hours researching the internet, and playing around with the device, I spent even more hours trying to find "FREEWARE" programs for use with these generic mp3 players.

Then I spent countless more hours writing a user manual complete with links that connect you directly with the internet to download all the free software that you need to convert video, synch with itunes, load ebooks, Zip programs e.t.c.

Many of these programs cost over 30 dollars each.

Overall i found several programs that saved my customers over 100 dollars, all compiled with easy to follow instructions written in laymens terms if you will.

The importation idea I had of creating my custom MP3 players was a failure overall, and I gave it up last year, after spending countless hours designing logos, boxes, commercials, e.t.c.

A year later I was telling my story to a friend at work. And I told him what set my product out from the rest. There was alot that set mine apart from the rest, but what really set it apart was my user manual... after all, without it you would be left with instructions very poorly translated that were completely useless, and your new mp4 player would be sitting in some drawer somewhere waiting to be used, then you would spend alot more money buying the real thing which is better in some ways, but not as good in others... I have both and I think i prefer the generic overall.... especially the price.

He gave me the idea that I should sell my manual. And I am glad I listened!
