How do we measure a handbag?

Handbags are measured in four specific locations

Handle drop:  The distance from the top of the strap (where it goes over the shoulder) to the top of the bag (where the opening of the bag would be). 

Height:  Measured from the bottom to the top with the bag sitting upright on a table.

Width:  Measured from seam to seam across the front or back.  If there are no seams, the bag is measured across the front or back with the bag flattened out as best as possible.

Depth:  If there is a base on the bottom of the bag, we measure straight across, from front to back of the bag.  If there is no base in the bag, leave it blank.

 

 

Handbag Condition Statement

 

We try as hard as we can to photograph and describe any wear, holes, stains or ANY other flaw or damage in the handbag.  All the bags we sell need cleaning.  Even if they are new with tags, they are dusty from the warehouse and will need a light wiping down, at least. All the bags we sell are USED and may have SMALL pen marks or spots on the inside that are not mentioned in the item description.  No returns will be made for condition unless the bag is grossly misrepresented.

The word purse is originally derived from the Latin bursa, from the Greek βυρσα, meaning oxhide.
