BEAUTIFUL HUGE NEW WOOD HANDCRAFTED MODEL YACHT 49" high x 40" long x 7" wide

This is a large version of the Shamrock V Yacht. The model is 100% handcrafted from scratch using the “plank on frame” construction method. Our master craftsmen have spent more than 50 hours building the model. One bold feature that makes this model stand out is the art of wood use. Mahogany, teak and other fine woods are carefully selected to accent each part of the model. This replica has magnificent details which include metal rails, adjustible riggings and various deck details . No plastic parts!  Comes on a solid wood base, with metal name plate.

SHAMROCK Shamrock V was built in 1930 for Sir Thomas Lipton's (Lipton Tea Co.) fifth and last America's Cup challenge.  She was the first British yacht to be built to the new J Class rule.  With her sails unfurled, she's 16 stores high and is an awsome sight to see.  She is the only remaining "J" to have been built in wood.

There are three remaining J-CLASS yachts from the 1930s and in recent years each of the three remaining yachts have undergone comprehensive reconstruction to keep them in full racing order.

Shamrock has been restored to her former glory and is used as a charter yacht.  they say there is a no more beautiful sight than to see her at sea.  She was a greyhound of the seas then and still is today.

Now all three of these magnificent craft are again racing together and can be seen at specialist venues around the World.  All three came together in the summer of 2001 for the America's Cup Jubilee Regatta, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the original race.

During the race, yacht after beautiful yacht kept passing by and then finally the most majestic yachts of all time, the three remaining J-Class yachts, Shamrock V, Endeavour and Velsheda glided by almost effortlessly but deceptively fast as they towered over the spectator yachts. 

The most common adjective that is used by those who have sailed on the existing J-CLASS yachts from the 1930s is the word "awsome".  The immense sail area and sheer power cannot easily be described and the speed, slicing effortlessly like a knife through butter and their ability to turn almost in their own length is incredible.

Yachts like this were never built again because of the tremendous cost in building them.  Instead, 12 meter yachts replaced them.

This is not a toy and must be kept away from children.
