Vintage 1971 Fisher Price Play Family Fire Engine #720

The Play Family Fire Engine set includes a wooden fire engine and a very rare wooden fireman with white plastic arms to hold the fire hose (The figures without the collar behind the neck such as this one are hard to find).

The fire engine has a permanently attached driver with a wooden head that bounces and turns side-to-side as the engine rolls. The engine has a bell on the back that rings as the engine rolls. There is a small-diameter peg on the rear-bumper frame that the fireman goes on. The fire engine also has a white pivoting two-piece ladder on the back, and a 12" long red and yellow shoestring fire hose.

We believe the fire engine itself was made in September, 1971. The rare Little People fireman that comes with it was made between 1974-1975. The bell works great and the driver's head turns just like it's supposed to. This set is in very good condition. It would made a great gift for any collector or maybe even a little one. Comes from a non-smoking environment.
