Cloisonne and Brass Silent Butler

A nice vintage brass silent butler with a cloisonne decoration  of exotic birds on branch and flowers on a gray background with a rust colored border. The cloisonne work appears very detailed. The outside brass is developing a nice patina (should shine up well if that is what you prefer) and the inside is bright and shiny. The hinge works well and the price is heavy for its size. There is a small sticker on the bottom which reads made in India and there are the numbers 442 on the inside of the base and the lid of the piece. The base is decorated with four inscribed lines and the handle is solidly in place. The bowl portion measures approximately 5 inches in diameter and the handle adds approximately another 5-1/2 inches. This would make a nice addition to a cloisonne collection or or for use in tidying up at a get-together.
