Silverplate Butter or Covered Serving Dish or Bowl with

A nice silverplate covered dish or bowl with a dome lid and open work rim. The insert fits both ways, either with the handle on the inside of the bowl -- this way the bottom can be filled with a bit of cold or hot water to help the contents cold or hot with the dome lid. The insert with the handle on top also works nicely for a lower profile dish, like vegtables or sauces. The bottom portion measures 8 inches across the rim, with the inner bowl portion measuring approximately 6-1/4 at the top. The insert measures approximately 6-1/4 inches with the rim and 5-1/2 inches across the well. When assembled with the domed lid, it is between 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall with the knob. The bottom of the dish is marked HAMO, EPNS, Made in England, which most likely makes this produced after 1923, but there is no other dating information on the piece. There appears to be minimal plate loss, but some surface scratches as one would expect on a vintage used piece. I can find no dents or breaks in the set. The piece still needs a final polish, but it would make a nice addition to any formal dining table.
