B&W B+W 39mm Pro UV/IR Cut Filter #486 Leica Hot Mirror

Description

B&W B+W 39mm Pro UV/IR Cut Filter #486/ Leica Hot Mirror

-This is a made in Germany UV and IR cut filter (hot mirror filter) usually used on digital cameras to remove the unwanted magenta cast caused by infrared light on the digital sensor (most often used on the Leica m8)

-This can also be used on film cameras to remove the UV and IR radiation which is often the cause of slight soft focus in landscape photography (most lenses do not sharply focus IR light and some films are sensitive to it)

-All digital sensors are sensitive to IR light and most have a built-in blocking filter that is often only partially effective (a fully effective on chip filter could cause a loss of image quality), the only option is to use this filter on the lens to stop most of the unwanted UV & IR light.

-UV (ultra violet) is well known to cause a haze in landscape photography and is almost always filtered out with a filter for best results by many professionals

-This filter blocks both

-In very good condition and almost like new with the box

Shipping

The item will ship via United States Postal Service, either parcel post or priority, depending on what you choose. Please keep in mind that PARCEL POST is cheaper, but only offers 2-9 day delivery, while PRIORITY offers 2-3 day shipping (and is more expensive). Please keep this in mind when you bid, as it can take up to nine days for the item to be delivered. I ship within 4 business days of receiving payment. International shipments will be sent USPS Priority International only.

NOTE TO POTENTIAL BUYERS OUTSIDE OF USA: Your package has absolutely NO GUARANTEE OF DELIVERY TIME. Timely delivery, or any delivery at all, will be at your own risk, and you assume this risk upon making payment for your item. The item will be shipped via USPS International Priority mail, which provides for tracking, so we can locate your package if you have not received it. Shipping outside of the USA can take up to 8 weeks or more, depending upon how long YOUR CUSTOMS agency takes to process your package. We have no control over this and WE WILL NOT REFUND for delayed, lost, or stolen packages shipped outside of the USA. Customs and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Not that it needs to be said, but I do not control mail delivery. If you feel that it has taken too long to receive your item, upon receipt please look at the date that the package was sent (on the shipping label) and not when it was delivered. I also utilize online tracking via the USPS, and forward your e-mail to the Postal Service to make tracking your own package easier. Again, I ship within 4 business days of receiving payment.

Questions and answers about this item

Q: Hi, you state the filter is almost like new, what does that mean? Is the glass scratched or is the glass perfect? John
A: These filters are in good used shape without scratches on the glass or dents in the rings, they may have some marks on the outer ring face, but minimal if any. I bought a M8 several years ago and fitted filters... Continue reading

Q: 31,50 dollars it is a folly the filter has to be expeditious in a recommended envelope cost 8 dollars ciao Roberto
A: I am sorry, but that is the actual cost to send a package via first class international mail. I will not use any lesser means of shipping as the package cannot be tracked, and I wouldn't be protected by PayPal.
