Blumenfeld, Samuel L.: Blumenfeld's Alpha-Phonics. A Primer for Beginning Readers. An effective, step-by-step, easy-to-use intensive phonics program for teaching reading to beginners of all ages. The 128 lessons cover the 26 letters and 44 sounds of our English alphabetic system. The program has been used by thousands of home-schoolers very successfully. There are no pictures, so that the student cannot guess the words, and learns to read phonetically, thereby becoming a fluent, accurate reader.  The author has used the program to teach immigrants to read and write English and improve their pronunciation. Written so that any parent can teach their child to read at home before attending school. The book includes instructions on how to teach each lesson. The program is also a great tutoring tool for tutors engaged in teaching the reading disabled in need of remedial instruction. This copy is brand new. With a spiral binding so that it can be opened flat. I recently received a lovely letter from a young lady in Maine.  She wrote: "I learned how to read using Alpha-Phonics when I was four years old, and for over six months, I carried that red book with me everywhere.  I want to thank you for your contribution to my life, for without that book, I don't think I would love reading, and writing, as much as I do."  That's the kind of letter an author loves to get.  Buyer pays $3.75 shipping and handling.
