This is a restored Lionel 264E locomotive and tender cataloged 1935-36. The locomotive and tender were originally gray in color. As the original cast cab was pot metal and disintegrated I had to buy and paint the new cab so I decided to paint everything red except for the tender underfloor. . The paint was stripped using the Bill Vagel "boiling cauldron" method of using soap powder and boiling water which leaves no harmful residue to come back and bite you later. The restoration was done in the mid 1970s and still looks good except for some recent touch up to some small scratches on the loco body directly above the drive wheels. The locomotive runs well and th three position E-unit works smoothly. All the loco trim and rods are original. Some wiring has been replaced. A charge of $1.70 will be added to the invoice for USPS delivery confirmation. Thank you for looking.
On Nov-05-09 at 07:44:29 PST, seller added the following information:This is a 265E not a 264E. The original photos show the correct 265E number plates on the cab. The 264E and 265E have exactly the same body, but the 265E has the added eccentric rods. Any bidder is free to remove their bid or you may contact me and I will remove it for you. I apologize for my error.
