True to thier 18th Century roots Staffordshire Enamels makes all its enamel boxes and Bonbonnières in England. Staffordshire Enamels employs its own highly skilled craftsmen in Staffordshire surrounded by a heritage of over 300 years of enamelling, hand painting and finishing skills. Every material they use is sourced from an English supplier who is dedicated to maintaining thier unsurpassed quality standards. They have only one location. At Staffordshire Enamels , everything involved in thier enamel boxes is under our complete control.

300 YEARS OF HAND PAINTING, ENAMELLING & FINISHING

Every new enamel box, chelsea bonbonnières, clock, paperweight, cufflink and stud is designed or approved by Staffordshire Enamels in house Head Designer using traditional English design resources for inspiration. The design is then discussed carefully with the Head Artist and Production Director. A free hand painted sample is produced by one of our gifted senior artists. This is shown to a select few of our long standing customers for comment. The design is then modified in the light of market feedback and approved for production to become a Staffordshire Enamels box or one of our other 100% hand made products.

The first production unit is carefully monitored at every stage and is given a final scrutiny to ensure it matches our highest quality standards. If it does the artist who painted it entirely by hand adds his or her "Touchmark" (initials) and these are fired in to ensure that the history of every piece we produce is capable of being traced.

We are Staffordshire Enamels. We make the highest quality English enamels, boxes, Chelsea Bonbonnières, enamelled clocks, cufflinks, paperweights and novelties in the world. Everything is made here in England. All our pieces are entirely hand painted by one of our gifted artists. We do not subcontract highly skilled work to distant countries. We do not source from third world countries. They do not use cheap photo litho techniques on any of our enamel boxes or other products.

Staffordshire Enamels was founded in 1977 as part of the revival of the enamelling industry in England. This craft, was born in the middle of the 18th century. Attaining heights of exquisite workmanship and beauty within just 50 years, its death  was sounded by the gathering pace of the Industrial Revolution and by the Napoleonic Wars. The former robbed the craft of its skilled artisans.
