Our picture frames are produced using quality picture frame moulding. The first step in our production process involves cutting the moulding to length using one of our 10 precision double mitre saws. Then, the frame legs are assembled on one of our many v-nailing machines. This picture frame production process allows us to provide superb pricing based on volume production.
Following this, each of our frames is assembled with glass or styrene, black backing or cardboard backing, and either an easel (for table top use) or wall hanging hardware. Flexible tabs are used to affix these items into the frame. These allow for easy installation of your picture, print, poster, or artwork. This process also allows us to, once again, verify the quality of your frame. Each frame is inspected as it is assembled to ensure that you receive a picture frame that is of the best quality possible.
Finally, all picture frames are packaged using our time tested method which ensures a safe delivery. We have worked for many years to develop a packaging system which meets all shipping standards and provides the most protection for your products. We have developed specially sized boxes to allow for a sufficient amount of packing material to cushion your picture frame shipment. Poster frames are shipped individually in specifically designed poster frame boxes. Our poster frames are packaged with custom designed foam spacers which allow the frame to "float" in the box, safe from harm. It is our goal to ensure the safe delivery of your product. If, for any reason, a product arrives damaged we are always happy to work with you to provide a full refund or replacement order.
Our Materials:
Wood frames: Many of our frame mouldings are made from wood material. The majority of our wood mouldings use Ash or Poplar. We do have a small number of Oak mouldings available.
MDF frames: MDF is a wood composite material which is used in many modern building applications. MDF provides durability and cost effectiveness as a picture frame material.
Polystyrene frames: Polystyrene is a plastic material. This material allows for a wide variety of frame styles as well as being a light weight, cost effective frame solution.
Glass / Styrene / Gallery Acrylic: Regular glass (2mm thick) is used in many of our frames. As an alternative, in our larger frames, styrene (1mm thick) is used. This is a plastic material similar to plexiglass and is slightly thinner than regular glass. Styrene provides additional durability in all of our larger poster frame sizes. Gallery Acrylic (2.3mm thick) is also a plexiglass material, but is as thick as regular glass and provides additional UV protection. Each of these materials is crystal clear.
Black backing: This backing material is roughly 1/8" thick, non-corrugated cardboard. This material provides a rigid and great looking backing for any picture frame.
Cardboard backing: Corrugated cardboard backing is used in many of our larger poster frame sizes. We have found that this material provides rigidity and cost effectiveness in our poster frames.
Hanging Hardware / Easel: Easels are used on many of our smaller frames for table top use. Our easels are produced from the same black backing material as stated above to ensure a perfect color and texture match. Mid sized picture frames include horizontal and vertical wall hangers that are directly attached to the backing material. Poster frames include hanging hardware in a small bag (to be installed). This includes a saw tooth hanger and small nails to be used to secure the hanger to the poster frame.
