An amazing find. These look like they just came from the printer, and were packed away. 1 has 2 small smudges on the cover, 1 has a tiny tear on the bottom of the spine, the others look like new. they are all stiif, like they've never been opened. No marks at all on the inside. by James Hadley,LLD. reprinted from the Websters introductory pages, 2nd edition. ( this would be a first edition.) Pub. by Merriam 1944.

Wow, reading the first couple pages, I must agree, our education system flat out sucks. People were way more educated back then.

these are interesting, maybe they were salesmen's samples. Kind of hard to trudge around with a sack full of dictionaries.
