1985 Old Version Playmobil Medieval Castle # 3446 in Box
This is the very hard-to-find Playmobil Castle # 3446 (German name: Stadtmauer Kastell), made in 1985. The box is marked 198t5 Geobra Brandstatter Made in West Germany. That was almost 25 years ago. This particular set was purchased by Grandpa and kept at his house, to be played with only when the grandsons visited there. Because it was a special thing for Grandpa to enjoy alongside his grandsons, the kids never played with it unsupervised and treated it with care. When the boys outgrew the set, it was packed away at Grandpa's house. Everything was neatly put back in the box. The set is complete -- it was assembled last week, photographed the old fashioned way with film (see the little photograph sitting in the box in one of the shots below), dismantled, and put back. Everything here is original to this set. There are four figures (two original to the set, and two others that are old Playmobil medieval figures from add-on sets), accessories, flags, etc. The original instructions are missing, but I have seen copies of them for sale online; it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to get these.
The box has done a fine job of protecting everything while in storage. But, the BOX is not mint; it has a few creases, edge tears. No writing or serious problems, but certainly shelf wear. The set is from a nonsmoking home.
The box is BIG and HEAVY -- when packed, it will weigh about 10 lbs. I will use pieces of sturdy cardboard over the sides and then wrap it all in shipping paper. Inside, everything will be packed in tissue/bags to keep the components from rattling around.
I'll also be listing a set of old, extra Playmobil medieval figures -- knights on horses with shields and weapons -- separately. If you buy those as well, I can certainly pack them with the castle all in one box to save you money on shipping.
