Fernando Castro Pacheco es un pintor, muralista, grabador, ilustrador, mexicano, nacido en Mérida, Yucatán el 26 de enero de 1918. Además de ser conocido por sus murales que evocan el espíritu y la historia del pueblo mexicano, particularmente del yucateco, por sus formas artísticas tradicionales y con gran sentido estético, Castro Pacheco tiene también obras de caballete y de escultura y ha ilustrado numerosos libros. Hay en su creación un singular uso del color y de la forma que va de lo figurativo a lo abstracto. Es un artista con gran arraigo local y al mismo tiempo es bien conocido y apreciado internacionalmente.
