Both shoes have these at the collar area. The right shoe is a light area about 1" long located at the edge of the collar on the outside side of the shoes about 1" back from the top lace. The left shoe is also on the outside side of the shoe at the collar but is larger than the right shoe. This is looks like where someone at the manufacturer was overzealous with the glue. I have included a picture for you to see. Because of where these spots are located, they are not something that you see right away. They may clean, but I don't know for sure.
