Aunt Mable's Love Story
Author:Susan Pindar
1848
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Up for your consideration is the original publication of an antique short story taken from a disbound Graham's American Monthly Magazine, published in Philadelphia in 1848 by Samuel D. Patterson & Company. This is an ORIGINAL article -- NOT A REPRINT. It is 4 pages long and has no illustrations.
SUSAN PINDAR [Susan Pindar Embury] (Tarrytown, NY, circa 1820 - 1892) Her father, Charles Pindar, a Russian by birth, and for a time Russian consul to Florida, died in New Orleans. His estate, Pindar's Vale, adjoined Wolfert's Roost. She contributed numerous poems to the Knickerbocker Magazine and was the author of Fireside Fairies, or Christmas at Aunt Elsie's (New York. 1849) and Midsummer Fays, or the Holidays at Woodleigh (1850), which were republished together as Susan Pindar's Story-Book (1858), and Legends of the Flowers (1851). She also contributed numerous short stories to the popular journals of her day.
The entire piece measures approximately: 6-1/8" x 10" (15,5 x 25,5cm). The paper is tanned with age, most especially around the edges and one vertical side has evidence of this once having been bound in the magazine. It has some minor foxing (little brown age spots). There is some light surface soil and some ink markings on the first page. Otherwise clean and odor-free.
This is an exciting, rare and historically collectible find, and documentation as to its' source will accompany the article.
Again, this is an original, NOT a reproduction. Unconditionally guaranteed to be as described -- full refund if not satisfied.
