Advantage the active ingredient is imidacloprid, which acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. Within 12 hours of application, 98-100 percent of fleas are dead. Advantage kills fleas before they lay eggs, so their life cycle is broken at multiple stages. It also kills flea larvae within 20 minutes of contact.

As a Veterinarian Technician with over 15 year of experience we have always use a dosage schedule for our boarders and in house animals in our clinic. This is the most cost effective and accurate way to administer the product. We of course use larger quantities and dosing. What we have done is come up with solution and dosing per individual case.

Our kits contain same medication you buy at you Vet the difference is we breakup the packaging to save you money. Advantage large dog 4.0 ml contains same product as the tube label for 9 lbs cat. I'm a Vet Tech and we have been using this method for years. Dosage per lbs is .10 per 2.2 kg of pet’s weight Advantix or Advantage package their product anywhere from .4 to 4.0 ml. We simply use their larger 4.0 ml tube and break it in smaller doses. Just follow our instructions included in your order. Save you money!

Keep in mind:

For the product to be effective the medication must goes directly on the skin in between the shoulder blades it must be apply on the skin not in the dogs hair. Also if the dog/cat is extremely infected is recommended it receives a good bath then apply product after blow-drying the pet make sure is dry don't apply on a wet coat. Remove dead ticks use a flea/tick comb if you have one. You must also treat the pets areas beds other pets ect.

Capstar is another product that helps jump start your flea problem. If you don't have a flea shampoo use dawn dish detergent the blue original it works like magic. Also some dogs may get really itchy for 3-7 days after application. acting strange,wiggling around, shaking their hind legs, chewing, etc, this is because they are itchy.  After all these products whether is Advantix, Advantage or Frontline will kill the bugs but the sores and bites need time to heal, an oatmeal shampoo (more than 48 hours after application) helps ease the itching.

Method of Administration:

Part the hair on your cat/dog back, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the Syringe the skin and squeeze to expel the entire contents directly to the skin for dogs/cats 20 lbs. or less, apply on a single spot for dogs 21 lbs. and over, apply in two or three spots.
