The shipping and handling fee includes insurance Hi, nice knife for action here. I collect USA Schrade Uncle Henry & Old Timers as well as Shrade Walden large pattern knives. The description of your knife was great! The only thing you left out of your desription is, Schrade Cutlery used high carbon stainless steel pins for the blade pivot pin on all their large folding hunters & lockback knives. The reason was because of the extra strength the high carbon stainless steel pin gave the Schrade knife. Camillus Cut. followed Schrade's lead & began using the same type pins in their knives for the extra strength too. BTW, your comparison of the USA Schrade Old Timer 6OT blade with the USA Schrade Uncle Henry LB-7 blade was correct. The USA Schrade Old Timer 6OT, USA Schrade Old Timer 7OT, USA Schrade Uncle Henry LB-7, and the USA Schrade Uncle Henry LB-8 are the same blade. The tang stamps are the only difference in them. I will send another message to follow this one with a little more information. Regards, Dovie. - duffy-66
Hello again, Here's the other information about the USA Schrade Old Timer 6OT. Schrade used 440C stainless steel to make their blades from. There was a special tempering done to the blades on the larger made Schrade knives. That's why the tangs are stamped Schrade+. I've NEVER seen a large Schrade+ knife that had a bad blade due to the steel or the tempering of it, & I have owned a lot of them. By a lot I mean somewhere around 75-100 of them. I still have 40-50 of them. The wood used for handles on those knives is a very tough wood as well. They were built to work & to work hard, & they haven't fallen short of what they were designed & built to do. I wish you good luck with your knife auction & hope you get the amount you want for it. It's well worth the asking price. Regards, Dovie. - duffy-66
