Here's a 1" marble from the Alien Egg series by one of my favorite artists, Douglas Ferguson. This amazing marble is covered in two-layered circles of deep blue outlined in cream, with 7 larger circles in greenish yellow interspersed throughout. In the middle of each of these is a circle in bright red, also outlined in cream. My description really isn't adequate to the workmanship: the entire marble is multilayered, so that it looks like some parts are "popping out" at you and others are receding into the marble. It's a beauty! The blue circles become a floral swirl at the south pole, and this is where the signature is etched, "DMF 2009."
