~ Green Taffeta 70s Does 40s Fancy Halter Christmas Dress ~

When I first saw this dress, I would have sworn it was from the 40's! The nylon zipper says otherwise - this is a sexy 70's halter with throwback 40's style charm. Totally perfect as a Christmas Dress!

It is made of rustling green taffeta and features a shelf-bust with high empire waistband. A plaid taffeta ruffle of greens, white and pewter trims the neckline and halter - the same fabric makes ties at the empire waist for a bow at the back! The long skirt has a wide flare, and is finished with a double flounce - one of plaid, one of the green.

This appears to be a beautiful homemade creation, and so there is LOTS of selvedge at the side seams - if you LOVE it, but find it a little small, there's wiggle room for alteration!

Wear it 70's with green plaforms and straight hair, or make it look a little bit Old Hollywood Glam with cuban heels and an up-do. A fabulous holiday frock!

Condition:

This dress is in good wearable, but as-is condition. The acetate taffeta has a little heat-discoloration at the underarms (almost entirely hidden by the ruffles) and similar ligh spot at the bust (see photos). This is from body HEAT, not perspiration. The color throughout the skirt is even, the construction is sturdy and the zipper works perfectly - it really looks fabulous on! A great homemade vintage gown.
