Up for bids is this fabulous obelisk form modern table lamp completely covered in tessalated bone over wood. I would date this to the late 1970's and it is very much in the style of Karl Springer of Enrique Garcel. I can find no markings on it. The scale on this is really great- it is really tall and I have included a scale reference picture with a Campbell's soup can to demonstrate this. It is beautiful quality, and is quite ornate and detailed. The sides of the obelisk are laid in a diagonal pattern, and the bottom part is done in a brick fashion. There are even balls above the plinth that are covered too, as well as feet. I rewired this lamp with silk covered white cording, as the original wiring was shot, and updated the hardware. It is good to go! Dimensions are: 29 1/2" H to top of socket; 24 1/2 to top of obelisk; base is 8 3/4" square. This lamp has a substantial heft. Condition is great- no major problems, only the most minor signs of expected vintage wear in terms of a ding here or there.
