 I'M SELLING ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND SEVERAL ANTIQUE CHINESE AND JAPANESE ITEMS.  THE DESCRIPTIONS AND PRICES ARE HER'S AS I'M NOT AN EXPERT IN THIS FIELD.  PLEASE REVIEW THE NUMERIOUS PICTURES, ASK ANY QUESTIONS, FOR ADDITIONAL PICTURES IF NEEDED AND MAKE YOU OWN DETERMINATION AS TO THE AGE, CONDITION AND VALUE OF THE ITEM.  I WILL CONTACT HER WITH FOR ANSWERS TO ANY QUESTIONS.

THIS AUCTION IS FOR A FINE ANTIQUE CHINESE CLOISONNE BOWL DECORATED ON A BLUE/GREEN GROUND WITH BEAUTIFUL FLORAL AND VINE DECORATIONS IN COLORS OF ORANGE, WHITE, BURGANDY, YELLOW, AND VIOLET.  THE BOWL IS OCTAGONAL IN SHAPE WITH REPEATING PATTERNS THROUGHOUT.  THERE IS VERY LIGHT PITTING IN SOME OF THE ENAMEL AND ONE CHIP TO THE ENAMEL ALONG THE TOP OF THE FOOT RIM.  THIS IS CLEARLY PICTURED.  THE ENAMEL IS EITHER ON BRASS OR BRONZE.  THOUGH IT APPEARS IN THE PICTURES THE BOWL IS LISTING TO ONE SIDE, IT ACTUALLY IS NOT.  MY TRIPOD WAS SLIGHTLY OFF.

IT MEASURES 10" IN DIAMETER AT THE WIDEST POINT AT THE OPENING, 4-1/8" IN DIAMETER AT THE FOOTRIM AND APPROXIMATELY 4" TALL.  REALLY A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF CHINESE CLOISONNE WHICH SHE BELIEVES TO BE 19TH CENTURY; HOWEVER, IT COULD BE A LITTLE EARLIER OR POSSIBLY LATER.  THAT DETERMINATION IS YOUR'S TO MAKE.  THESE ITEMS HAVE BEEN STORED FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND MAY NEED CLEANING, WHICH IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.
