I've provided plenty of pictures, so please be patient while they load. Then scroll up for a visual examination, as they are considered to be part of the description. Thank you.
This listing is for a set of cast iron Bookends made by L. V. Aronson: 1925
The bookends are black with a rendition of Shakespeare's House, Stratford on Avon in high relief. On the bookends Shakespeare's name is spelled without the e.
There is paint wear and dings along the edges. No paint wear on the houses-in the photos there are light spots due to reflection. The paint wear is mostly at the edges and along the crack line. Where the bookends bend, each of them have a crack at the lower left hand side, from front to back. On one of them, there is also a crack on the opposite side. That crack is only visible from the front and doesn't go thru to the back. Despite this, they both are strong, and their stability not compromised. There is a greenish oxidation in the crevices.
Imprinted on the back of each: Made in U.S.A. L.V. Aronson 1925
Approximate Measurements: 3-5/8th inches at highest point 4-3/8th inches wide 1-3/4 inches deep The bookends are quite heavy, weighing approximately 2 pounds 7 ounces without packing materials.
Due to the high cost of shipping, there will be no returns for antique and vintage items unless there is a discrepancy in the description. Approximate sizes and weights are always included in the description. Please examine the photos carefully, read the description and ask all questions before bidding.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for additional information or photographs.

Please contact me within 3 days to inform me of your method of payment. Payment should be made within 10 days of close of auction. Paypal gladly accepted.
Please insert your zip code in the shipping calculator to obtain the rate for your zone.
For items with many pieces, I'll usually add a packing fee and will always be noted it in the listing, and will not be reflected in the shipping calculator. This is just to cover the cost of yards and yards of bubble wrap needed to protect precious old glass or porcelain pieces. For single items, or depending on the size, it could be more than one item-I charge $1.00 for handling and that is reflected in the shipping calculator.
Other than the aforementioned, all shipping costs are weight based. I usually list on Sunday night for 7 days, and ship the day after I receive cleared funds. If paid instantly the evening of auction end, then the item will be shipped on Tuesday. I send confirmation of mailing, so please save those emails.
There are two options in the shipping calculator: Priority Mail and Parcel Post. I have found, depending on your zip code, Priority Mail can be less expensive than Parcel Post.
Please keep in mind that items are shipped promptly after payment is received, and that I have absolutely no control over arrival times.
