Mission Furniture Oak Arts and Crafts Mica Table Lamp

This is a Ragsdale lamp which is hand made in Michigan from 100% solid quarter sawn white oak.  Natural Baltic amber mica is used in the shade panels.  The artisans at Ragsdale certainly enjoy making these in limited production, and each one is signed and dated.  This lamp is 20 inches tall and measures 19” x 19” at the shade.  The pictures we are using are not pictures of the actual lamp being auctioned, but are typical of our work and each lamp has its own unique grain patterns.  The base is 2” thick QS oak, and the shade is 7/8” thick QS oak.

This old school 4 sided lamp shade is lap jointed throughout and set with replaceable panels.  The corbels are full blind mortised into the base, and the lamp is very stout, weighing close to15 pounds.  Not many lamps of this kind of quality are available for this price and Ragsdale actually owns the Limbert trademark and uses the same lumber supplier as Limbert’s Arts & Crafts originally did in 1915.   If you have a Bungalow, or Arts and Crafts Home, ambiance and charm are important and, you will love this lamp.  The dual pull chain electrical cluster takes 60-watt bulbs, and the cord is high quality braided black cloth.  The lamp is a new creation by Ragsdale, and the design draws from common fundamentals of the Craftsman, Arts, and Crafts, and Mission movements.  The stain used comes from an old Charles Limbert recipe. We are using amber shellac and a final buffing with a Black English bee’s wax.
