eBay Bidding Strategy 101 How to Bid Successfully!
eBay uses a proxy bid system. This means that the bidding process is automatic so you don't have to re-enter a higher bid. The system will do it for you in the event another bid is placed. The best way to bid is to enter the maximum amount you want to pay for the object now. If you wait until later to place a maximum amount bid, your odds of winning the item will diminish. For example, you may forget about the item until after the auction ends, when it's too late. Or, you may have technical difficulties at a future time with your computer or trouble logging on eBay. Or you just may lose track of when the item ends. And the list of examples can go on and on. So, if you gotta have it, heed this advise and enter you max bid now rather than later! This advice should help cut down on the number of emails I would otherwise get from people who are flat out disappointed, upset or unhappy that they didn't win an item they so desparetly wanted from me. Remember I get between 400-500 emails a week. And I need all of the help cutting down on unnecessary emails as possible. So if it's your first time using ebay, or you want something I am selling extremely badly, then please heed the advice given above, and place your maximum bid amount Now rather than later if you really want the item bad enough, but please try not to flood my email box with these kind of "im very dissapointed that I didn't win" type of emails, once the bidding is over because it takes up to much of my important time to read them, and give advice. Thanks. :o)
About physical condition
of my used or new games.
With all of my items I sell, what you see is pretty much what you get. Now this should be common sense to most of you buyers but if an item is factory sealed, then that means it comes with an instruction manual and a mint conditioned video game item inside. But you will only see the factory sealed item, and not the game, or manual, because it is factory sealed, and I can't take a picture of the item inside because if I do so, then the item will no longer be factory sealed, which will reduce it's value.
However, if a game I sell isn't factory sealed, then I try to list all my items by what you see in the pictures I have provided for you. What you see in the pictures I have provided, is what you are going to get. So if you see a video game case, a video game manual, and the video game CD, or DVD, then that's what you will be getting when the item arrives to your door step. If you receive anything more, then consider it a bonus. If you do not see a manual, then you will not be receiving a manual. If you don't see an original game case, then you will not receive an original game case. So Please Do Not automatically make pre-conceived assumptions of what you will be getting from me on an item you are bidding on. If you must make an assumption, then assume that you will not get an instructions manual if you don't see one in the listing, and not the other way around. And assume an item does not have what you want it to have if you choose not to email me to ask about it, and you do not see it. I have had a few buyers make assumptions after they purchased an item from me. And so I would like to make sure that this point is clearly understood by all of my potential buyers. This is especially true if you are maticulous video games collector.
About video game blemishes markings stickers & scratches on carts and DVD-CD based video games
Again another downfall of buying a used video game, is that they have their cosmetic blemishes. Cartridges, or cart based video games, (NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc.) tend to have sticker blemishes, markings, written names of previous owners, un-wanted scratches somewhere on the cart, rattling noises when you shake some video games, etc. And most of the time, these blemishes are on the back. So if you are a buyer that cares about such a blemish then email me and ask me BEFORE YOU BID PLEASE. Again, please don't automatically make assumptions of what you will be getting from me on an item you are bidding on based on something you don't see. If you must make an assumption, then assume the worst about what the back looks like and not the best if you choose not to email me to ask about it. The above is especially true if you are a collector.
The same is true for a DVD or CD based video game too. (Game Cube, Playstation 1 & 2 video games, Xbox Games, etc.) All though these games don't tend to have as many sticker markings on the actual CD video game, the case holding them might. So the same rule applies to CD based games. Furthermore, these CD and DVD video games often times have their share of unwanted scratches. So if you are a buyer that hates scratches, then please ask me about it via email, BEFORE YOU BID ON MY ITEM.
Consequently if you choose to not ask me about scratches on a game before you bid because you are in a hurry, or you just don't have the time to read much of this, and you must make an assumption about rather or not a game I am selling has scratches, then please assume that the game I am selling also has it's share of scratches too. I can't be any more honest about the potential condition of my used video games I am selling and what it is you are buying from me then what I have disclosed to you in the previous few paragraphs. All of this information should cut down on the number of neutral and negative feedback remarks I will potentially be getting had I not otherwise disclosed this information to you. So there should be no surprises on your part as a buyer, or on my part as a seller.
About The Functionality of My
Used & New Video Games with $ Back Guarantee!
All of my games and systems have been cleaned , tested and are guaranteed to function properly or your money back. Keep in mind that I primarily sell used games, and so every now and then a used game is liable to present some kind of problem I may not be aware of. So if a game doesn't work, you get your money back! If there is ever any problem with any game or system I ever sell, please let me know so that I can process you a refund when the item is returned. The game should be returned so that I can return it back to the retail store I purchased it from, which has a 90 day return policy on it. This should be plenty of time for you to return an item in time enough for me to meet that deadline requirement.
Giving you a refund in my opinion would be much better than just posting negative feedback without any attempts to email or communicate in the least bit. This has happened to me before, hence the need for me to make sure this is clear to all of you potential buyers who want to bid or buy any items from me. So Please email me and let me know that an item doesn't work and communicate with me before you decide to leave negative feedback, because you are unhappy about a video game item that might have turned bad. If you just leave negative feedback before attempting to email or communicate with me, then obviously you are voluntarily forfeiting your right to get a refund because you are letting me know that you don't care about my attempts to make you happy or to make a negative situation right. I can't fix a situation that is bad if you never tell me about it, and that is what a return policy is for. So please use it should you happen to need to. Negative feedback hurts me, and my reputation, and I strive really hard to do things to help keep from getting them. More on Negative and Neutral feedback further down within this listing.
But please do not make light of communicating with me. There is very little that can't be worked out if communication is good. And if for some logical reason you are not satisfied with anything you purchase from me, then you will get your money back if you let me know about it. :o)
This goes without saying, but please don't bid if you can't pay. It causes sellers to miss other potential sales and just all around makes for a bad experience for everyone. If you have a problem, let me know... And I will see what I can do to make sure that you are thoroughly satisfied with your purchase, or I'll refund your money back guaranteed. About How I Ship Items And when to expect your shipped item at your doorstep. Before I get into how much I charge for combined shipping rates, I would like to tell all potential buyers how I go about shipping all of my items to you so that you will know when your item will arive. Now 99.99 % of the time, I ship USPS Mail. USPS is the only shipping service close to me, and I have all of their rates and procedures memorized. Furthermore, it's less expensive for me to ship USPS mail as opposed to using some other shipping service. Now unlike most other people on the site, I have very little to no reserves, and I don't have preset starting prices. Now because of this, there is a trade off in the way I have to ship in order to continue to provide all of you buyers with competitive shipping rates with no reserves and $0.99 cents starting prices should your items get to heavy. I never know how much an item is going to sell for since I don't set average prices. Thus in order to keep from losing a significant amount of money if a majority of my items don't sell for much more than the $0.99 cents starting price, on combined shipping you are going to pay a little bit more on shipping than you would pay if you buy from another seller. But chances are another seller is going to have much higher start now, or buy it now prices than $0.99 cents, or that seller may have a bunch of items you don't want. So with ebay you are going to have to do what's best for you. But the prices I have set works and works in a fashion that's just right enough for me to keep myself in business. Everyone runs there business the way they would like to, and if anyone is unhappy with the rates I charge, then that individual is perfectly free to shop with anyone on ebay that will make him or her happy. This is what I love about the Untited States of America. We all have choices, and if we don't like something, then we are free to find a business partner that will indeed make us happy! :o) So if an item weighs around 13.0 ounces or less than your item will be shipped USPS first class mail, which usually takes around 1-4 days average business days to ship within the United States. Sometimes it's a little longer if you are all the way on the East coast or on an island that's a providence of the United States. The closer you are to me, the swifter the odds that your item will get shipped to you faster. However, if your item weighs over 13.0 ounces, Usually around (3-4 video games or more, or one or more strategy guides of the like) then it will be shipped USPS media mail which usually takes a anywhere from 3-9 business days depending on where you live in relation to me. This of course can change if you the winning bidder request a faster shipping service after a bidding is won and payed for by you, within 1-5 days before I ship the item to you, and your item weighs more than 13 ounces. Keep in mind that items such as solo power cord over 13 ounces cannot be shipped media mail. ( Media mail items primarily deals with video games, systems sometimes, and strategy guide books.) So if you do want a shipping service that is a little faster than media mail and you win a bidding and pay for it right away, and if you know your item weighs over 13 ounces, then make sure you let me know that you want a faster service before I ship it off to you. You may have to pay a little more if the shipping cost is significantly higher though with a much faster service for heavier items, so keep that in mind if time is of extreme importance to you with shipping. So remember, if you are far away are somewhere near the east coast, then a media mail shipped item has a maximum wait time of 9-business days and on rare occasions even longer approaching the lengths of two weeks in extreme but rare time measures once the item is shipped off. So keep this in mind if you decide you want to buy a lot of video games from me and if receiving all of these items by a certain day and time is of primary importance to you. Now confirmations are also provided to all U.S. buyers that purchase insurance. USPS charges $.55 cents for Delivery Confirmations, and is about 3 times cheaper with click and ship. So if you are a buyer that wants a confirmation from me, which is generally 99 percent of people, then the additional ten-twenty cents is charged because of the delivery confirmation that I will purchase in addition to the insurance for your single, or combined purchased item(s). Remember if you purchase insurance, I charge $1.50 for insurance, so you will automatically get a confirmation along with your insurance purchase if you do for the price of $1.50. (These shipping services only apply to U.S. residents. Insurance, and confirmations aren't provided for people who live in Canada, Germany, Japan, or France.)
Thus you buyers in these other countries need not worry about the above paragraph because all items being sent to you will be flown, and it generally takes about a week, around 7 or so business days for your item to arrive to you if you live in one of these countries outside of the United States. Except in the case of a Canadian custom holding on to an item, which would be something I have no control over. (So if an item is shipped to Canada and it happens to be one of those rare item that takes a while to get to you, then remember that you must wait a minimum of ten (10) weeks first before I process a refund on items shipped to Canada if the reason is because you are waiting for it to arrive.) But on average, and for the most part don't be surprised if it ends up being around 7 or so business days to arrive in Canada. And if on a rare occasion it takes a longer amount of time to get to you in Canada, then you bet that the Canadian customs probably has it for some reason or another. Remember, I generally ship within 1-5 business days of a cleared or complete payment. About Shipping Rates Before I get into shipping rates, I first would like to make this important point very clear. I reserve the right to decide not to ship off any items to any person who does not live at a location that has a confirmed address. To be protected under ebay and pay-pals protection policy, shipping to a confirmed address is imperative. So if I feel shipping an item to you is too risky, and you don't live within a confirmed address, then keep this in mind because I can choose to sell it to another bidder that does meet this requirement if I choose to do so. All people who bid must pay with Pay Pal if you live outside the U.S. If you live in the U.S. You have the option of paying with Pay-Pal, or a credit card if you have a merchant account.
About Feedback!
I leave feedback for others once feedback is left for me. I do this for three main reasons. First of all, it's much faster for me to respond and give feedback to others, once feedback is left for me since my feedback is run automatically.
Second, it cuts down on the number of emails I receive from people who want me to leave feedback. The less emails I have to respond to, the better. (Trust me, I get over 100 hundred emails a week from all of you hungry buyers. Thus I can use the extra time to do something else more productive, than respond to emails about when and why I haven't yet left feedback. So the more emails I can cut down on answering on ebay, the more efficiently I can utilize that time to do something else that needs to be done.
Finally, it gives me the opportunity to respond to someone's negative or neutral feedback because sometimes negative or neutral feedback can often times be left fairly pre-maturely.
In all honesty, Negative, or even neutral feedback should rarely be given, and only be given after all other possible lines of communication have been exhausted. Please try to communicate with me should a problem arise before you leave negative or neutral feedback. This not only goes for me, but with anyone you should buy or sell things from on ebay. This is only fair for everyone! It also makes the ebay experience for everyone a much more pleasant one to deal with. As a seller, Every now and then, I make mistakes, and so do you as a buyer. We all make mistakes every now and then.
Yes, it's unfortunate, but it's true. Consequently, the best thing we can do is correct these mistakes the best way we can, learn from our mistakes, and move on with our life. Let's not torture each other in the process!
So please try to communicate with me or any other fello ebayer before you leave nasty comments that will stay on a person's ebay history forever. I am extremely good at communicating, and I offer refunds. Thus there should be no reason why, at least as it depends on me, that any negative feedback should be left if everyone attempts to communicate and be honest and fair about the ebay transactions that take place from day to day. *smile* So if you leave negative or neutral feedback, then chances are I will do the same. Especially if you don't attempt to communicate first to deal with whatever concern, mistake, or issue that may arise later on down the road.
About Timely Payments
Finally, ....I will give anyone 5 days to communicate with me at auction close to let me know how it is they intend to pay for an item. Of course you may receive a reminder or two from me within that time period. Otherwise my item will be re-listed if I do not here from you within 7 days of a closed auction at the earliest. I don't waste my time giving negative feedback to non paying buyers, nor do I report anyone in to ebay. If a person doesn't pay, then they do not receive my item, and that is as simple as it gets. Leaving negative feedback to buyers is a waste of my time, and I don't have time to waste. Besides, things happen in life that keeps people from paying every now and then. So that's my policy about people who purchase something from me, but don't pay! If a person wants something bad enough, he or she will pay for it if they can unless something bad in life prevents that individual from doing so. So why punish people or myself by wasting my time leaving bad feedback from non-paying bidders. That's the way I see it.
Ok, with all of that said.....Good Luck with your Bidding and Enjoy the item(s) should you happen to win!!!! Please email me if you have any questions, comments, confusions, fears, or concerns! Thank You! :o) |
