Your are bidding on a ATSF Railroad retirement gift for a man named R.L. Hurley.  The gift is a cast resin type set of train bookends that have a steam engine and caboose.  On the back of one bookend are the markings "R.L. Hurley Brakeman 4-2-1947 Conductor 3-29-1949 Retired 10-30-1977".  The casting is very detailed.  The bookends weigh just under 4lbs a piece.  The pieces are 7.5" X 6" and 6" tall.  I find one chip on the top of the caboose that is very small and does not distract (see photo).  This item was purchased at an estate auction.
