Vintage Ashtray Alabaster or Marble w/ Green Glazed Dog

This ashtray measures about 4" in diameter.  It is in good condition with 2 very very tiny chips (you can feel them, but they are hard to see).  There are no cracks, the dog has age appropriate crazing.  There is a dark color to what I believe is adhesive which holds the dog to the ashtray, I was not sure what to use to clean it off.  The bottom has light green felt.
