Beautiful Primitive Antique Cedar Blanket Chest - chest was crafted by slaves in Alabama during the 1800's. The lid was replaced with pine @ the turn of century and was finished to match the cedar. Dovetail construction, beautiful rich patina. Chest is sizeable @ 49" long x 27" tall x 26" deep. Wheels were added @ 1950 and could be easily removed if desired. This would be a gorgeous coffee table because both sides are equally beautiful.This chest has been in my family for over 200 years and originated somewhere in or near Birmingham, Alabama.
