This amethyst is
a shallow grotto
covered with crystals of
translucent gleaming lavender
with a cream color
calcite crystal decorating
the upper right rim.
The face is lightly polished
with a thin agate outline.
This sparkling wall of crystals,
from Brazil,
is 11" across, 6 1/2" high,
2 1/2"-to-3" thick
and weighs 8.8 pounds.
Amethyst is said to be a
stone of contentment and spirituality.
It is also said to be helpful
in conquering unwanted habits
and addictions.
A note about amethyst geodes in general:
Most geodes have undergone
some sort of repair.
This is a common practice
and the repairs are always solid.
The outer shells of
amethyst geodes are generally
coated with a sealant
and painted gray.
This also is the usual practice in Brazil;
it is very uncommon to find a geode that
does not have an outer coating.
Please remember to unpack and
carry geodes with care...
cradle like a baby and
NEVER pick up from the top.
