16mm ANIMATION Rocky and Bullwinkle Show Wasamata U !!!

This 25 minute Cartoon The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show is the collective name for two separate American television animated series: Rocky and His Friends (1959 – 1961) and The Bullwinkle Show (1961 – 1964). Rocky & Bullwinkle enjoyed great popularity during the 1960s. Much of this success was a result of it being targeted towards both children and adults. The zany characters and absurd plots would draw in children, while the clever usage of puns and topical references appealed to the adult demographic.

Some of the references in these two shows are The feature “Scareface” Modern Sports, Several movie stars, Italian Mob Pictures ..THE UNTOUCHABLES etc. The references are really obvious and funny!

The humor is mostly for adults I think:

SCARNOSE: (picking up the phone“ “Get me…fingers, Well Where is he, Never mind…is Ears there…No..how ‘bout legs…No Legs..how bout knees, toes!!! What the heck…Is there NO BODY there????

The two shows are segmented as follows:

It begins with all the tags and Logos for the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Then the first Hysterically Funny Show has to do with “ScarNose” a man the AG has begun to investigate, but they need a witness. Well of course that would be Bullwinkle, but Rocky has to hide him before the Syndicate get him…VERY FUNNY stuff here, with references and puns….

The next set of Openings and Tags for another Show.

This begins with the executive board in a college want to win to attract more money to the school … (sound familiar) so they try to have “Natasha” at her sexiest to get Bullwinkle a member of the team WASSAMATTA U to throw the game..Again, Very Funny!!! However I am NOT sure if this one is complete..This ends with Bullwinkle inadvertently NOT throwing the game..Rocky announces the important lesson that Bullwinkle learned…from the “Book of HEREOS” But it sounds as if there may have been another scene..but I don’t know…all the end tags come in and then it is over… It all lasts about 25 minutes.

The SERIES was so successful that Rocky and Friends has aired in over 100 countries. A popular urban legend claimed that it was banned in Canada, because of the portrayal of Dudley Do-Right. It is currently a part of Canada's Teletoon Retro lineup. As a publicity stunt, Ward and Scott campaigned for statehood for "Moosylvania", Bullwinkle's fictional home state. They drove a van to about 50 cities collecting petition signatures. Arriving in Washington DC, they pulled up to the White House gate to see President Kennedy, and were brusquely turned away. They learned that the evening they had arrived was during the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis.  British Invasion band Herman's Hermits got its name because bandmates thought lead singer Peter Noone looked like Sherman of "Mr. Peabody" fame, and the name "Herman" was close enough to "Sherman" for them.  A pinball machine dedicated to Rocky and Bullwinkle was released in 1993 by Data East.[9] When this show aired on Nickelodeon, it was entitled "Bullwinkle's Moose-a-rama" with the same outro credits as "The Bullwinkle Show."

In January 2009, IMAGINE GAMES NETWORK named Rocky and Bullwinkle as the

11th best animated television series

On 1 X 1200ft reel  There is no vinegar smell, since all my prints were kept in optimum conditions. The FILM STOCK IS EASTMAN . Although Eastman with a very little wear here and there…Most of the wear however looks like it can be washed out. I don’t remember seeing any emulsion wear.  The color is brighter than the pictures here… and as you can see there are some yellows , blues and greens present.  The pictures provided are directly taken from the print itself, and are very accurate to the Contrast/ Density of the print.  The pictures were taken by a low priced digital camera, so that the pictures here unfortunately appear a little unfocused compared to the actual sharpness and contrast of the print for sale.  This title is VERY RARE !!!!!!!!NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
