Michael Kirk Douglas known as nowadays American actor and producer was born on September 25, 1944 in New Brunswick, Son of screen legend Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas was a TV star in the early 1970s, playing a young, hip cop in The Streets of San Francisco. In 1975 he asked to be written out of the show so he could produce the feature film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The film went on to win 5 Oscars, and Douglas became a successful producer as well as a movie star. In the 1970s his movies included The China Syndrome and Romancing the Stone; in the '80s he starred in Fatal Attraction (with Glenn Close) and won an Oscar for his role in Wall Street; in the '90s he starred in Basic Instinct and The Wonder Boys. He married actress Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000.
