John Randolph "Jack" Webb (April 2, 1920 – December 23, 1982) was an American actor, television producer, director and author, who is most famous for his role as Sergeant Joe Friday in the radio and television series Dragnet. He was also the founder of his own production company, Mark VII Limited. It is worth a GOOGLE to learn more of this interesting man's life and career. Since the first issue of TIME magazine autograph collectors have sort the signatures of the famous people that appeared on its' cover. A Time Magazine cover was the perfect thing to mail to people to sign. They were light and attractive. Anyone pictured on the cover of TIME magazine was quite proud of the fact. It was nearly impossible for anyone to turn down an autograph requested on this famous magazine's cover! Most of the signed covers I am listing are from the 1950's and most have very small staple hole in the top corner and some have minor color pencil restoration most in the red borders, mentioned for detail. Many of the images show uneven red borders...this is because the whole thing would not quite fit on the scanner. The reminisce of the postal address mailers are still visible and some of the signers even signed right over them!
