Vintage "An Old Glory Story" Strip by Rick Fletcher

This 1960 original art is "The Great Western Migration" story in the "An Old Glory Story" comic strip series drawn and inked by Rick Fletcher. Athena Robbins wrote the story. Fletcher went on to do Dick Tracy after Chester Gould retired. He had assister Chester Gould previously. This original is marked, "7-31 ©1960 by The Chicago Tribune" and it's unsigned.

Among the many joys of owning an original work of art is studying the artist's techniques, brush strokes, any blue pencil lines and maybe even coffee stains on the back. In the last photo of this original we can see a stroke of white-out used to clean up the jaw line of the fourth woman.

WHAT'S THE CONDITION?

This vintage Rick Fletcher original comic strip art is in very good condition.
Flaws:

• the strip is off-white because it's almost 50 years old
• there's a very light water stain on the lower right, mostly in the margins
• many push pin holes in margins made while Fletcher worked on it
• fingerprint smudges and minor stains on back (not shown)
