THE FRINGE MAKER MAKE 4" FRINGE FAST ON SEWING MACHINE

This is an auction for the greatest sewing tool I have found in years!!  I have been sewing home decor items for 25 years and this has made my life so easy.  I've never seen anything like it!! It is The Fringe Maker-fringe/ tassel maker made by knittingonthefringe.com.  The looped fringe making instructions and pictures are found there. It is so easy to make custom fringe cheaply from ordinary yarns, ribbons and strings.  I was able to make 5 yards of fringe on this in less than 1 hour for about 3 bucks-- the cost of a skein of yarn!! This is how you do it, as shown in the pictures:

Wrap fringe material of your choice around the narrow side of the Fringe Maker beginning at the center slot. Place a stabilizer such as bias tape or hem tape over the slot and insert center slot under pressure foot of sewing machine. Stitch down the entire length of the wound material. Remove from sewing machine. Insert scissors between the fringe material and The Fringe Maker along the outer edge of the device and cut. Do this on both sides. (See photos.) Release the fringe through the center slot. Fold fringe in half- cut edge to cut edge. Stabilzer becomes the top of the fringe which is ready to affix to your project. Trim fringe to even out if necessary. Makes 18 inches of fringe. For longer lengths, leave last two inches uncut, slide them to the top of The Fringe Maker and wind again. Repeat as many times as necessary to reach desired length of fringe.
You can also sew the fringe down the center slot by hand using the back stitch if you don't have a sewing machine or prefer to hand sew.

Making tassels is also fast and easy with The Fringe Maker as shown in the last 4 pictures:
Wrap material of your choice around narrow side of The Fringe Maker overlaping the wraps 6 times. Cut a 12" piece of wrapping material and tie it around the bundle of wraps at the center slot. Insert scissors between the Fringe Maker and tassel material at outer edge of the device and cut. Do this on both sides. Lift the tassel out through the center slot and fold in half. The 12" tie is now the top of the tassel that will be used to affix the tassel to your project. Tie a second piece of material near the top of the tassel, winding it around 2-3 times. Using a hand sewing needle, hide ends of second tie in the middle of the tassel. Trim to even out if necessary. The fullness of the tassel can be adjusted by wrapping it more or less than 6 times. The Fringe Maker can make many tassels at one time.

Once you try this you won't want to live without it.  It is only 1/4" in depth so it takes up no more space than a ruler. It's so portable too- take it to sewing class or sewing groups.
