Pink & White Primitive Style Handmade Crochet Rag Rug

Most of us can remember our grannies and all the things they made, especially not wasting
a single scrap of fabric.

They made quilts out of clothes that could no longer be repaired or handed down. And they made rag rugs.

This skill was passed on from generation to generation from early pioneer days and then most especially during The Great Depression. My Mom grew up during the Depression and she taught me this skill.

Appreciation for the craft and anything lovingly handmade, especially in this country, is back.

This lovely one of a kind primitive style crochet rag rug was just handmade by me!

It was made from 100% cotton quilt fabric from one fabric pattern -- a sweet pink & white candy striped print fabric. I just love how this rug turned out. It's fully reversible & I have a hard time deciding which side I like better.

It measures about 29" across -- Perfect little accent pieces, especially for a little girls room.

Just in case the buyer wanted a wider rug, I have not finished it off yet. I still have more

fabric in this pattern, so if you would like it to be wider, just be in touch with me and once we have come to agreement on the finished size and additional price to customize for you, I'll add another listing exclusively for you to cover the difference.

There is no backing to the rug so you will need to add your own if it will be placed on a hard surface like hardwood floors.

So easy to wash.I just throw mine in the laundry using cold water and a gentle liquid detergent and then into the dryer at a low setting until the major dampness is out and then lie flat or hang to let it finish drying.
They can also be dry cleaned.
