Longbow Parts Kit IPE Zebra Hickory Backing Recurve NEW

Most bow makers recognize Ipe also known as Brazilian Walnut as one of the best longbow woods. Ipe is ideal because you can build a very narrow bow. You can make a straight style bow or a reflex/deflex bow.Here is a complete parts kit to build your own longbow at a great price. Ipe needs to be backed and you can't beat Hickory as a bow backing. The contrast is just beautiful. The Zebra handle wood included has both the colors of the Ipe and Hickory. The wood contrast really comes to life when you add the Ipe limb tips on top of the Hickory. You will love the look and will be very proud of your bow when finished.The kit includes:

- One Ipe wood belly core - 3/4" X 1 1/4" X 70"

- One Hickory wood backing strip - 1/8" X 1 1/4" X 70"

- One Zebra wood riser/handle block - 3/4" X 1 1/4" X 10"

- Two Ipe limb tips - 5/16" X 1 1/4" X 2"

Note on Glue to Use: I have had wood glue such as Titebond fail on some of the bows I have made. I would recomend URAC 185 which is a two part glue which I now offer. Look at my other auctions or search on URAC 185 and you will find the product. This glue has to be shipped separate from the bow kits.
