Derriére le Miroir was one of the premier fine art magazines of the 20th century. It was published between 1946 and 1982 (253 issues) by the French publisher and gallery owner Aimé Maeght who showed and promoted modern artists such as Bonnard, Matisse, Braque, Léger, Steinberg, Chagall, Bram Van Velde, Miró, Kandinsky, Giacometti, Ubac, Bazaine, Calder, Derain, Chillida, Tapiés, and others. Derriére le Miroir was the result of Madame Maeght's passion for publishing and quickly became the catalogue for the exhibitions held at Gallery Maeght.
This issue of Derriére le Miroir will be terrific for a collector of Calder.
