This is an OLD - VINTAGE 1939 - CHESS SET - GAME PIECES - CHESSMEN. It is as shown and consists of a COMPLETE SET of CHESS PLAYING PIECES in the ORIGINAL BOX with a 1939 booklet of rules and playing instructions. The set is called: GITS PLASTIC CHESSMEN made by the GITS MOLDING CORP., CHICAGO - STAUNTON PATTERN No. 500. The pieces are in excellent condition and seem to have a MARBLE-like appearance. The box is in good condition with some wear and it is probably missing the insert that held the pieces. The instruction book is dated 1939 and is called: CHESS - THE GAME OF KINGS - by DONALD B. DYER and is in very good condition. You buy this set for a very low opening bid AS-IS as described!
