Very cool lp of bird sounds, with an emphasis on the musicality of birdsong, including several songs transcribed into musical notes in the insert (this ex-library copy contains a photocopy of the original booklet). This is definitely one of the most interesting and unusual bird field recording albums and ranks up there with Jim Fassett's similar efforts. Makes for a great source of sound effects for DJs/producers/turntablists/musique concrete composers and should be of interest to fans of Pierre Schaeffer, Luc Ferrari, the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Otomo Yoshihide, Christian Marclay, Martin Tetreault, Erik M, Kid Koala, etc. |
