Warning!  Always use the polarity and pin assignment markings on the equipment and manual.  These plugs are the result of cost savings measures from ADST, (former parent company to a/d/s, Orion, PPI - Precision Power Inc. & Apogee).

These are not marked with polarity. ADST switched to universal plugs to keep inventories down.  These were used on all their equipment lines including a/d/s, Orion, PPI (Precision Power), and Orion's Concept line.  

The fit, These are the proper plugs too, they fit tight which is good.  That means a better connection... And YES the 4ga does fit 4ga wire.  Try trimming it back only 3/8" and twisting either the plug or the wire as you insert it.
