PRIMITIVE FOLK ART BRICK PLANTATION FARMHOUSE BIRDHOUSE

1. This plantation style brick farmhouse birdhouse is handcrafted by seller.  Each and every component is handmade.   It measures 17.50 wide x 16 deep x 15 high, has a 4-sided hip roof and has an all brick finish containing approximately 2900 bricks.  All were cut using a hand roto zip tool involving many hours.  The bricks on the house were cut into the wood sides and the steps and chimney were carved from a single block of wood.  I threw in a dark brick here and there for a more realistic look. Shutters were created by cutting and modifying a piece of decor molding.  All trim and moldings are distressed with flaked paint to create an aged appearance. There is a total of 21 windows and 3 doors with the front lower door having twin sidelites. All doors have metal door knobs. There is a balcony at the upper front door and a chandelier hangs from the porch ceiling. The porch has a random plank-style wood floor. The bird entrance hole is in the upper half of the rear door. The base is easily removed for cleaning old nests via screws in the bottom.  The base has scalloped corners and is signed and dated on the bottom.  Materials used are pine and spruce, exterior wood glue, screws, nails and all has several coats of satin varnish for protection.  (NOTE:  LAST 4 PHOTOS SHOW A FEW OF MY BIRDHOUSES PREVIOUSLY SOLD ON EBAY)
