 UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS RARE FRANKLIN MINT STERLING SILVER "GREAT AIRPLANE" INGOT.

THIS IS THE MODEL A FORD OF AIRPLANES FOR THE PRIVATE PILOT THE FAMOUS "PIPER CUB".

  A RARE INGOT THE ONLY ONE ON EBAY!

 

 THE PICTURES SHOWN IN THIS AUCTION ARE FROM THE SET AND OF INGOTS SHOWING THE FRONT AND BACK. WITH A PHOTO OF THE PLANE. JUST COPY THE HISTORY CARD FOR THE HISTORY AND SPECIFICATIONS ON YOUR INGOT. YOUR BAR WILL BE IMMACULATE.

THE FRONT OF THE INGOT HAS THE PLANE AND NAME. THE REVERSE HAS THREE DIFFERENT VIEWS OF THE PLANE WITH SPECS. THEY ARE AS NEW MINTED IN PROOF WITH A MIRROR FINISH AND FROSTED RELIEF. THE SIZE IS 3/8"x 5/8" .

 THESE PLANES WERE SELECTED BY A BOARD OF INTERNATIONAL AVIATION PIONEERS.

THESE VERY HARD TO COME BY FRANKLIN MINT INGOTS WERE ISSUED IN A SINGLE STRICTLY LIMITED EDITION ACCORDING TO THE COA DATED DEC. 23, 1978. ALTHOUGH SMALL THEY HAVE AMAZING DETAIL AND BEAUTY. THIS COLLECTION COMMEMERATES THE FIRST 75 YEARS OF AVIATION CONSISTING OF 50 PLANES, STARTING WITH THE WRIGHT BROS. IN 1903 FIRST FLIGHT TO THE SUPERSONIC CONCORDE IN 1978.

I HAVE AN INCOMPLETE COLLECTION IN EXCELLENT CONDITION SO I DECIDED TO LET THEM GO ONE AT A TIME FOR THE AVIATION OR SILVER COLLECTORS.

 THESE 30 YEAR OLD INGOTS WILL STAY IMMACULATE DUE TO THE MINTS FORESIGHT TO COAT THESE WITH AN ACRYLLIC COATING SO THEY DON'T TARNISH, AND CAN BE GENTLY HAND HELD TO ENJOY THEIR EXCEPTIONAL DETAIL AND CRAFTSMENSHIP. THEY ARE MINTED AS PROOFS WITH A MIRROR FINISH AND FROSTED RELIEF.
