Shipping time
Most orders ship in 1-2 weeks beginning on the day after you make payment. Very occasionally, due to factors out of our control, it may take slightly longer. In that case, we will make every effort to contact you by e-mail. Why can't you ship sooner? We are a tiny company that attends many events during the year that take us away from the office, and we print many of our items to order, so it takes us a bit longer than larger companies with big staffs and warehouses. Rest assured you are getting a unique, high-quality product that you can't find anywhere else, made by a true small business. We understand that you may want to receive your order in time for a birthday or other special event, and encourage you to order well in advance of the date you need an item, to ensure that you receive it in time. When you rate our shipping time eBay wants to know if you feel that shipping took longer than expected. We try to be very clear about how long it takes us to ship and why, so that you know what to expect when ordering from us. Giving us less than 5 stars causes eBay to charge us higher fees and lower our ranking in search results, which makes it more expensive for us to do business on eBay. If you like our products well enough to order from us, please give us 5 stars for shipping time, if we ship your items within the 2 weeks we specify above.
International shipping costs and info
For destinations outside the USA, shipping is fairly expensive. Our basic International shipping service is Priority Mail International, which costs about 23 USD for the first pound to most countries, varying by country. The only cheaper method is very slow, known by us to be unreliable, and cannot be insured. Unlike many sellers, we don't inflate shipping costs - what you paid for shipping is what our postal system charges us for a very reliable service that includes basic insurance, so that you'll be protected if your package goes missing or arrives damaged. Since the charge goes up only incrementally for each additional pound, you will get the best value if you order multiple items. When you are rating our shipping costs eBay wants to know if you feel we are inflating the cost to make more profit. We do not do that. The shipping cost you pay ensures that you get your package quickly and are protected in the case of loss or damage in the mail. Giving us less than 5 stars causes eBay to charge us higher fees, and lower our appearance in search results, ultimately making it more expensive for us to do business here, and harder for us to continue to ship our products to other countries. If you like our products well enough to have us ship them to you overseas, despite the higher cost imposed by our postal system, please do us a favor and give us 5 stars in the shipping cost field.
Combining Orders
Yes, we will combine orders. You can combine any items you have purchased during checkout or in My eBay and request a total (before you pay), and we'll update the shipping charge based on the total weight of your package to save you money. Often, two or more items can be sent for the same shipping charge.
Keep your eBay contact information current
Have you moved or changed e-mail addresses? Please make sure that the e-mail address and shipping information in your eBay profile is correct. Both eBay and I will send important e-mails to this address, and there's no way these can be redirected. Your shipping address will automatically be set to the one provided during checkout, which is, by default, the street address in your profile. If this is not correct, e-mail me directly, by clicking on my username (sighcographics) above - DO NOT leave a note in your Paypal payment, I will not see it.
Your e-mail address and our privacy policy
We hate spam. We would never ever make your e-mail address (or any other personal info) available to a third party for any reason. Your personal information is safe and secure with us. Please be aware that we will use your e-mail address to contact you concerning your order, so if you use spam blocking software, please ensure that you can receive e-mails from the sighco.com domain.
Do I need postal insurance?
Insuring your package is a small additional charge (as low as $1.35). If you insure your package and it is lost or damaged in the mail, I will gladly refund your money or ship you a new item. Uninsured packages are mailed at your own risk, and cannot be refunded or replaced. If you do not insure your package, and it never arrives or is badly damaged by the US Postal Service, I will not be able to refund any of your money. Loss or damage caused by the US Postal Service is beyond my control, and I cannot cover the expense in that event. Since it is fairly rare for items to get lost in the mail, we make the insurance optional, rather than charging higher shipping rates for all customers. While the USPS is exceptionally reliable, it may be worthwhile to you to insure your package against this kind of loss. I offer optional insurance on the shipping of all domestic items as a service for your peace of mind.
