Why are your backgrounds better than others?

Versatility. We give you several different color variations with many of our backgrounds so that you can get great results every time. These beautiful artist-crafted backgrounds aren't like some of the other collections you may have seen. Our artists have designed our images to have more complex palettes where several colors are working together. This means that you can find a perfect color match for any photo - whether it is brightly lit, a night spot, or a close-up. We've even included backgrounds for black and white photos!

Will these backgrounds work for horizontal shots ?

Absolutely! In fact, many of our digital backgrounds are designed to work well regardless of the photo's orientation. For horizontal shots, we especially recommend those background images where the "lighted" area is exactly in the center of the page. To work with these images, simply rotate the background 90 degrees and proceed as normal. Hint:Don't forget to rotate the image back before printing!

Do I have to use a certain program to use these?

No. Any digital image editing software that lets you work with JPEG files will do. Many people these days are using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, but you can get great results using any imaging program. In fact, some users don't even manipulate the backgrounds at all - simply printing straight to paper and attaching a photo using adhesive or photo corners, as with our companion product - Digital Scrapbook Bonanza.

Do I have to use special paper to print these?

No. All the images in the collection are designed and formatted to give you high-quality 8 x 10 prints. Of course, the paper you print on will have an impact on the quality of your prints. Generally speaking, better paper will yield better results. Try using glossy photo paper, available at most office supply stores, for best results.
