They Call Me Naughty Lola: The London Review of Books Personal Ads: A Reader, edited with an introduction by David Rose.  Hardcover book published by Profile 2006, 165 pages.  'They call me naughty Lola. Run-of-the-mill beardy physicist (M, 46)'. 'My ideal woman is a man. Sorry, mother'. 'Disaffiliated flaneur, jacked-up on Viagra and on the look-out for a contortionist trumpeter' ran the first personal ad submitted to the London Review of Books. The quality has remained the same ever since, and it is now the world's funniest - and most erudite - lonely hearts column. Expectations of finding a suitable mate remain low, but it has produced a handful of marriages, many friendships and at least one divorce. Here the fruitiest of the ads are brought together for the first time. 'List your ten favourite albums...I just want to know if there's anything worth keeping when we finally break up. Practical, forward thinking man, 35'.  This book is in very good condition.  The dust jacket is in very good condition.  There is some minor wear to the edges, corners and to the top and bottom of the spine.  There is some minor shelf wear overall. The cover is in good condition.  There is wear to the edges (some bumping, top edge has a bump and a mark) corners and to the top and bottom of the spine.  There are a few minor marks. The book itself is in very good condition. There are some minor marks to the outer edges.  There is some yellowing of the pages.  Overall a very good copy.

Postage costs are Australia Post prices http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/   I do not charge for packaging (as I use recycled packaging), or for handling.  Any questions regarding the item or postage costs please email me before bidding.  All questions are welcome.

At the end of the auction I will send you an invoice with postage this may take a few hours (or minutes) depending on my schedule.  Please do not pay until I have sent you an invoice.

I post up to 5 times a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.   I generally post within 24 hours of receiving payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).

AUSTRALIAN BUYERS (postage within Australia):

Books can be heavy.

0 to 250g   Items under 250g will be posted as a parcel or a large letter depending on size.  This means postage will be between $1.10 and $4.35.

250g to 500g   Postage will be $5.60

500g +  A parcel post satchel (up to 3kg) is $9.90 to anywhere within Australia.  This is the cheapest option for items over 500g or multiple items interstate (usually 3 to 4 books depending on size).  Within Victoria postage is cheaper depending on where you are.  For large items, heavy or multiple items please email me for a price on postage.

Pick up is possible by arrangement.

Books can be heavy. This can mean that postage on a book will be expensive.  Please please please email me before bidding if you have any concerns.  I offer sea mail postage on most items to most destinations where possible (not Italy).  SEA MAIL will take up to 12 WEEKS excluding delays.
